Baptisms

Baptism is a sign of being a follower of Christ and a member of his church. We welcome for baptism all those who want to make this step of commitment, either for themselves or on their children’s behalf. At St John’s we invite all candidates for baptism, (or their parents in the case of children) to attend a couple of preparatory meetings. These are typically a Wednesday evening and an hour on a Saturday morning. These sessions aim to enrich your understanding of the Christian faith and to help to equip you to live it out, as well as explaining everything that goes on in the baptism service itself. The actual baptisms usually take place on the first Sunday of each month, at either 11.15 a.m. or 12.15 p.m.
