A church is foremost a group of people. This page introduces you to some of the
people at St. John's. If you would like to speak to any of us for any reason,
please contact us.
We also have four Readers.
Clergy
The clergy have the prime responsibility for the spiritual life of the Church.
There are three members of clergy recently joined by a fourth.

Rector: Rev'd Paul Roberts
|

Hon. Curate: Rev'd Gill Gregson
|

Hon. Curate: Rev'd Simon Stocks
|

Curate: Rev'd Linda Fletcher (from 28/6/09)
|
|
An accomplished musician, Paul has been Rector of St John's since 2003.
Also a keen gardener, he has patiently improved the Rectory garden where
he is often reminded of the church: "Feed it, weed it, prune it, and it
will grow and be productive." His dream for the church is: "on earth, as
it is in heaven."
|
Gill was already a long-standing member of the congregation before being
ordained in 1998. With a career in social services, she is particularly
aware of the needs of the frail and vulnerable in our community.
Gill retired as our Non Stipendiary Minister in September 2008.
|
Simon has been at St. John's since 2004. Inspired by stories of people
growing in faith, he is trying new ways for a church to work for men
and youth. He likes Manchester United and red sports cars. Simon ended
his term as Curate in September 2007 and is now working towards a PhD.
|
After completing her studies at Trinity College, Bristol, Linda joined
the Parish and was ordained Deacon in June 2009. She is looking
forward to lots of learning, serving and fellowship at St John's. Linda
is particularly interested in faith in the workplace, parenting and green theology.
|
|
Both Gill and Simon remain in Old Coulsdon and continue to work in and with St. John's.
We are a training Parish and Curates usually go on to Parishes of their own. In January
2009, the Diocese announced that Simon's predecessor had been appointed Continuing
Professional Development Officer.
