Virtual Tour, Children's Memorial

close up

In the Garden of Remembrance, as you approach the round at the end of the path, you encounter the start of a series of pale grey slabs. These circle the round and enclose the memorial to children who were stillborn or died young. The words on the memorial are "For all our Children" within a shape which echoes the arrangement of the slabs. The words on the last slabs are from Yeats's He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven: "Tread softly because you tread on my dreams".
