You are in the Chancel of the old church. Turn half left or right for stained
glass windows of the Evangelists, left or right for the memorials in the
north and south walls, half right for the piscine and sedilia or about for the
nave, move forwards to the altar or click the image for a close up of part of
a table.
This image shows the altar about to be furnished for a service when the candles have
temporarily been moved back and the dust cover has been removed. Either side of the
reredos are tables of the Ten Commandments. These were at one time lit by carriage
lamps given by Princess Louise, a daughter of Queen Victoria. In front of the altar
is a lectern. The plate on the left wall records the donation of the altarpiece.
